Mura app privacy

On this page

Mura is in development. This page sets out the health-data commitments we are building the Mura app to meet. It does not describe a finished app or completed security testing.

Before the app collects health data, we will publish its full operational privacy notice, including the data collected, storage locations, service providers, retention periods, and how to exercise your choices.

Your health data

These commitments cover your Mura measurements, health and lifestyle logs, and health patterns inferred from them. We will collect only the data needed for the features you choose, explain those uses, and request the necessary permissions.

We will explain the processing needed to produce your own readings and insights separately from optional research or model training.

No sale or advertising use

Mura will never sell your health data or use or share it for advertising. This commitment includes de-identified health data. Health information will not be sent to advertising platforms through tracking tools in the app.

Service providers handling health data for Mura will be restricted to the purposes we authorize to operate and support the service. They will not be permitted to use it independently for advertising, research, or model training.

Research and model training are your choice

Research or training models using your health data, including de-identified contributions, will require a separate, optional opt-in. These choices will be off by default and will explain the purpose, the data involved, and who will receive it.

Declining will not restrict Mura’s core functionality. You will be able to withdraw consent for future optional use. Before asking for consent, we will explain any limits on reversing research already completed or removing contributions from models already trained.

Free access and export

The core Mura app will include free export of your measurement history in CSV format and a readable PDF summary. You will be able to choose when to share those exports, including with a healthcare professional.

Account and data deletion

You will be able to request deletion of your account and associated personal data from within the app. We will explain the process, expected timing, and any information we must legally retain. The full notice will distinguish deletion from active systems from expiry of backup copies.

Protection built into launch

Our launch requirements include encryption during transfer and storage, collecting only necessary data, limiting staff access to authorized purposes, and reviewing the services that handle health information for us.

We will verify these protections before describing them as implemented. The full notice will explain relevant disclosures, including any legally required disclosure, and how to contact us about privacy.

Shopping data and app data

Our storefront privacy policy explains how Shopify purchases, website activity, and customer correspondence are handled. Its advertising provisions do not authorize advertising use of Mura app health data. Reserving a Mura Band does not opt you into research or model training.
